TASK 1 - What are your expectations for the future?

Hi teacher, 

I'm Sara Barceló, your student of 2nd of Batxillerat. There are my expectations for the future.

First of all, my expectations for the future of short-term goals are passing exams! And if it might be with good grades. I want pass the car practical test too! Well, I want good times during this course and, above all, my parents to be happy and proud of me!

Finally, my expectations for the future of long-term goals are to turn the course with good grades, learn to dance in the new dance academy in Figueras, out much partying with my friends and just have a good times. I want to go one year to study English and work there, and after that go to university or other site where you want to start my career, you still do not know what to study.

ORAL PRESENTATION

SELF-EVALUATION

First of all, I have to say that our presentation wasn't good enough as the other ones from our friends.

I prepared very well but I was so nervous that I had to read all the time.
When people stared at me I became very nervous and I didn't know what to do or what to say.

I also think that my English lever isn't good that is why I can't express myself and explain what I want to say. I did try it but I know I have no excuse. I don't think I deserve a good mark but this decision is for the teacher.

"Thanks for the tears you made me feel to reading the text you wrote to me ... You have so many reasons... I think the phrase that I wrote yesterday on the wall said it all .. I love you very much and I want nothing to change please, I want an infinite beside you! You are a great aunt even when angry and do not want to finish this whole day I spend with you, nights, mornings, afternoons because are super special because we always happens something that marks a forever ... I LOVE YOU, fuck! When a person makes you feel so happy to see it only, means that it is very important to you and that you appreciate and love to be able to have your life together, and that's what I do with you ! I don't think ever separate from your side, because what happens to us happens to us not to anyone else. Remember that together we can achieve everything. A summary? FOREVER ♥"

YOUR SAY 2 - MY LAST YEAR IN THIS SCHOOL (I HOPE).

I do 2nd of bachelor's in the INS Castelló d'Empúries and this is my last year in this school (if notes are good).
In this year, I want get good notes. I think that I can if I study a lot.
In this moment, I think that I can study more and get good notes, but I'm very vague...
In some subjects I get good notes, but I think that I could get more note if I study every day and I concentrate more. In others subjects I don't get good notes and I hate it.

My proposition in this year is approve because I want go to Girona University and start a new life with my friends, with responsabilities and the other things that behave go to live in a flat with other persons. I want live with my friends in a flat and go to the university to study and of Thursday go to the disco with people of university. This is my motivation of 2nd of bachelor's to approve.

If I won't approve subjects, I don't know what I will.

I promise I will study a lot this year to go to Girona and demonstrate to my family and my teachers that I can approve!

YOUR SAY 1 - SATURDAY'S NIGHT

My friends and I on Saturday's nights we are go to parties. Sometimes we go to dinner together and then we go to a discoteca.

Often, we go to  "OnOff Empuriabrava", a discoteca of Empuriabrava where there is a lot of people. This discoteca is to 16 years old and always there is a lot of people. The music is good and we are going very well. They also make many special events.

Now, lately, we are going a lot on "Mondenit", a discoteca of Figueres. This discoteca is for 18 years old, but me and my friends always let go. In this discoteca we are going very well, but is very small.
Some time ago, we were going in Empuriabrava, in "saloon" or "Síkim". In "Chic Deluxe Roses" in Roses too.

What we like is to be together and we spend it well.

NEWS 6 - A DREAM BECOME REALITY FOR THE BLIND.

SUMMARY:
The first bionic eye was born in the United States and has been transplanted in about 60 persons blind worldwide, who could regain partial vision.

This eye is called Argus 2 and was created by a Californian company. It is composed of electrodes implanted in the retina and a lens equipped with a miniature camera.

The eye has already been approved by the European authorities and will soon become the world's first bionic eye being marketed.

People who suffer from retinitis pigmentosa could regain sight thanks to Argus 2. The number of people suffering from this disease is about 100,000 people in the United States.

COMMENT:
I think it's great that the blind can regain vision, it is very vital for life to see. The science is evolving and I'm very glad. Things like these make many people happy they thought they had lost everything.

NEWS 5 - COMET C/201

SUMMARY:
Russian scientists calculated that the comet C/2013 A1 could cause an explosion of 20,000 million megatons and open a crater 500 km in diameter on the surface of Mars to hit this planet in October 2014.

If a collision occurs, the comet would impact against Mars at a speed of 56 kilometers per second and the crash would open a crater two miles deep.

It is expected that on October 19 the MRO orbiter NASA can capture images in high resolution C/2013 A1, because the comet will have a brightness of 8 of the apparent magnitude of a star.

Comet C/2013 A1 was discovered earlier this year by Australian astronomers Siding Spring Observatory.

I just hope nothing happens and everything is false alarm.

NEWS 4 - CULTIVATED NOSE

SUMMARY:
Scientists from University College London trying to restore a man's nose, a technique that consists in having the nasal appendage on one arm and then transplant them in the face.

The patient is a British businessman who lost his nose after suffering from cancer. Experts are convinced that it will be successful and he will have a new nose.

A responsible doctor explained that to get this technique for a new nose for the patient, first had to create a mold. Then the mold was sprayed with a synthetic material that served to waive stem cells.

After creating this basic structure, the experts add millions of cells offering nutrients and environmental conditions necessary for the formation of the cartilage of the nose.

Meanwhile, the skin of her arms was extended after being driven by a small ball lodged under the skin.

This ball is inflated until it grew excess skin. Months later, the device was replaced with a new nose implant and it is in the arm of the man, which has access to all the nerves and blood vessels necessary.

NEWS 3 - ENERGY BELT

SUMMARY:

The Energy Belt was introduced in Holland which is a belt from body fat produces enough electric power for charging a cell.

It is a conceptual design that can convert excess body fat into electricity, which then could be used to even charge a cell phone.

COMMENT:

Hopefully further development of this prototype, if you can actually do what it promises, can be a great solution to overweight worst also a good source of green energy.

NEWS 2 - "iWatch"

SUMMARY:
The so-called "iWatch" would connect with the iPhone allowing remote control device, interacting through the voice assistant Siri. It would be launched in 2013.

The apple company is working with Intel to develop a smart watch bluetooth connection that could be launched in 2013.

The device would have a 1.5-inch OLED screen of indium tin oxide coated glass, and connect the iPhone to control functions such as answer calls, play music or send messages and update Facebook status through assistant Siri.

COMMENT:
Not the first time a concept known as this, but I encourage you to keep trying it.

NEWS 1 - COMMUNICATION BETWEEN HUMAN AND ANIMALS.

SUMMARY:
This project seeks to make the animals "speak" with humans. The researchers say it is possible to create a visual and auditory interface common to both species can communicate fluently and naturally.

This project has already achieved some animals recognize themselves in the mirror, as the dolphins interact with a species of touch pad where you can advertise or ask for something that will require, even expected that shortly may have its own tablet.
